June Restaurant Feature is Guilford Mooring

Guilford Mooring helped us kick off summer with stunning views, friendly and attentive service, and mouthwatering dishes. Jason Carron, from Avery Restaurant Consulting, took charge of the recent renovations and day-to-day operations at the restaurant. Carron, along with the rest of the staff, had a welcoming presence and dining suggestions to help make our experience one to remember.

SHORELINE DINING

Guilford Mooring is about as close to the water as you can get, located on the shores of the Long Island Sound in Guilford, CT. Now is the perfect time to enjoy the summer breeze and views of the marina in the updated outdoor bar and patio. For those that prefer to stay cool, the indoor dining area and bar have also been recently renovated into an atmosphere that combines elegance and comfort.

SEAFOOD FAVORITES AND NATURAL STEAKS

It is no surprise that a shoreline restaurant has incredible seafood options, from fish ‘n’ chips to the fisherman’s platter (fried or broiled) to scallops and lobster tails. We had a sneak peek of the Lobster Bake – a new weekly special that includes 1¼ pound lobster, clams, shrimp, red potatoes and corn on the cob for $28. Everything was prepared and seasoned just right, with the focus on fresh seafood taste.

In addition to seafood, Guildford Morning features Brandt Beef steaks, a single family owned company dedicated to sustainable practices and all natural beef. Carron told us, “This beef will rival any steakhouse.” The ribeye was juicy and richly marbled, and the skirt steak was perfectly marinated. Guilford Mooring also offers chicken, vegetarian, and vegan options.

COMMUNITY MINDED AND FAMILY FRIENDLY

Throughout the years, Guilford Mooring has stayed true to its community roots. They hold special events to build community, such as the kid-friendly “Pancakes and Pajamas” and the a cappella performance and dinner “Wine and Wiffenpools.” Stay up to date on future events by following Guilford Mooring’s Facebook Page. Guilford Mooring maintains a family friendly atmosphere and offers a $5 children’s menu for both lunch and dinner, seven days a week.

Carron summed up our visit to Guilford Mooring perfectly: “This place has it all – great food, beautiful views, and community.” For more information, visit the website and follow the restaurant on Instagram.
