Connecticut Shoreline Events in July

Beaches. Fireworks. Fresh Seafood. Long, sunny July days in Connecticut bring a sense of excitement and ease. If you are looking for things to do this month, have a look at some of the events taking place on the CT Shoreline.

Sailfest and Fireworks

Sailfest 2018 is taking place July 13th-15th in New London. This summertime event came in first place in The Day’s Readers’ Choice Contest for the best Festival/Fair for the past three years in a row! Multiple stages are set to provide musical entertainment across many genres. Amusement rides entertain thrill seekers, over 200 vendors will satisfy any type of shopper, and you can find just about any type of food you crave at Sailfest. Don’t forget the fireworks! Art Festivals

Art festivals are also popular this month. Here are some festivals taking place on the CT shoreline:

  • The Guilford Craft Expo is bringing together 180 nationally recognized craft artists July 13, 14, and 15th. This expo features handmade art including ceramics, fiber, jewelry, glass, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and wood. There is also a food tent with beer and wine, a family art tent, and craft demos.
  • The 45th annual Westport Fine Arts Festival is taking place on Main Street July 14-15th. This festival is featuring 170 national and international fine artists, with all art work available for sale. Interactive activities will be available for all ages.
  • The Old Saybrook Arts & Crafts Festival anticipates over 10,000 visitors July 28-29th. Parking and admission are free for this festival that features work from 145 artists. Art includes fine art, stained glass, quilts, pottery, sculpture, wood carving, photography and more.
